What about Security and Confidentiality issues? Every available precaution has been provided to assure the security and confidentiality of all material submitted to SpeakWrite. Although it is virtually impossible to guarantee complete security, we think you will find the system provides nearly infallible protection for your work, and in almost every case, the security and confidentiality are dramatically better than the safeguards you currently use.

Your information cannot be retrieved by anyone other than you and SpeakWrite. All work is transmitted through your telephone directly into the SpeakWrite system, which is inaccessible to all outside sources. Your dictation is sent directly from our computers to our randomly assigned typist. The typist prepares your draft on word-processing equipment and software that is separate from any public network. The finished draft is sent back to you via e-mail and can only be accessed by you or someone in your office with your personal password.

Our highly qualified typists and proofreaders come with solid credentials. In addition, your recorded dictation is randomly assigned between the hundreds of pre-screened typists and proofreaders who are geographically scattered and not associated with one another. No follow-up information, not even subsequent drafts, is ever handled by the same person.

The SpeakWrite system is patterned after the system used by the US government with subcontractors, who only view random, unconnected pieces of an overall project. This system of security is virtually foolproof, and certainly offers more security than the system you use now, as your current typist(s) have access to everything that goes through your office.
